Home / About Us
Our story
Panama City Builders began as a small carpentry bench that kept being called back to “just close up” kitchens other crews had started. The missing piece was never a fancier fixture. It was someone who would stay from the first measurement to the last coat of paint.
Today the studio still works that way. A project lead walks the house, writes what is included, and introduces the specialists who will actually be in the room. Designers, painters, floor leads, and carpenters share one scope instead of handing you a stack of separate promises.
We like houses that already have a history. Plaster that is a little out of square, floors that have been sanded once, porches that only need the soft boards replaced. Improvement, for us, means making the home work better without pretending it was built yesterday.
How a project moves
You always know whether we are listening, drawing, building, or teaching you how to live with the new finish.
We tour the rooms you use hardest, ask what fails on a weekday, and note what you want to keep. Photos and a rough sketch leave with us the same day.
You receive a written scope, a planning range, and material options with plain notes about wear, water, and light. Nothing is ordered until you sign the selections.
Protection goes down before demolition. Rough work, inspections where they apply, then finishes in an order that keeps new surfaces safe.
We walk the room together, list touch-ups, and leave care notes for paint, grout, wood, and hardware. The lead stays available for the questions that show up after the first week of real use.
What we protect
A friendly visit is not a plan. We would rather spend the meeting on measurements, allowances, and what happens if a wall is out of plumb.
Sound trim, solid doors, and floors with life left in them stay when they can. New material is for the parts that are actually tired.
Shoes, drop cloths, nightly cleanup, and a path to the rooms you still sleep in. The project zone stays a project zone.
Who the work is for
People call us when a kitchen has become a corridor, a bath has no place to put a towel, or a whole floor of paint has gone dull and patchy. Some clients are staying for decades. Others are preparing a house for the next chapter and want the work to feel honest, not staged.
We are a fit if you want to choose materials with guidance, read a scope before work starts, and talk to the same lead when a question comes up. We are not a fit for overnight flips that skip prep.
